Italian Family Heritage + Carmen Basilio + Boxing + Basilio's Sausage + Musacchio Nephews = Syracuse's Italian Sausage Co.
This is where it all started, with our close-knit Italian family in Upstate New York. Our family story includes our Uncle Carmen Basilio, a notorious middleweight boxing legend and champion of the 1950's who was a part of Basilio's Sausage Company, the original family sausage business in Canastota, NY. Syracuse's Sausage Company was built and based on many of our family recipes and traditions of Basilio's Sausage Co.
The book, "The Onion Picker" is the story of Uncle Carmen's boxing career, and also includes some of our family history and old family photos.	The Musacchio Brothers: Joe (center) Anthony (left) and Bobby (right).
We are the Musacchio brothers, who own and operate Syracuse's Sausage Company and we are Carmen Basilio's nephews. Carmen's sister Marie 'Dodo' Basilio-Musacchio is our mom and her husband (our dad) Joseph Musacchio Sr., along with three sons (us); Joe, Anthony, and Bobby have all worked together over the years in the family sausage business. Our family deeply instilled strong values and work ethic in us; and taught us to always have pride in what we do and to never forget our Italian family heritage. This is what Syracuse's Sausage Company is built on, and will continue for generations to come.

Our family gathers around the dinner table in the 1960's with our grandmother's fresh homemade pasta drying and ready for the sauce, and of course homemade sausage and meatballs!	Families and good food... they just go together, especially if your family is like ours! Our family gatherings center around good home-cooked food, and almost always include our Syracuse's brand meats on the table. We make our products with families in mind - from our table to yours!
